As the 50th anniversary of Old No. 1 approached, we thought it appropriate to dig a little deeper into the origins of this significant work and to celebrate it. Fifty years on, music lovers are still discovering Guy's body of work, starting with this first extraordinary collection of songs. We asked Natalie Weiner to sift through the credits and interview anyone and everyone who was there for the making of the album. Then we asked our friend Peter Blackstock, journalist and co-founder of No Depression magazine, to take Natalie's interviews, do his own research, and use his creative instincts and writing chops to pull together the history of Old No. 1 and write this book.
