Product Description

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

Educator Dr. Carmen López, an expert on screen addiction, shares strategies for managing this issue with digital natives.

Our brains are prepared to focus consciously on a single thing; constant screen use overloads them, diminishing attention, learning and performance. The brain needs rest, order, effort and perseverance to avoid distraction, and abundant empirical evidence demonstrates the negative effects of dependency on mobile devices at an early age.

Data show that many young people spend an average of 5 or 6 hours a day on their phones, and even more on weekends. When they are deprived of their devices, they may have trouble falling asleep, fidget more, act impulsively, complain of boredom or become anxious; in other words, they develop abstinence syndrome.

It's our job to make sure that our children, and we, relearn face-to-face interactions, awareness of our actions, and attentiveness to our surroundings.
